Today’s tip comes from my good friend, master costumer Rae Bradbury-Enslin, the one who taught me most of my costume MacGyver tricks.
If someone is close enough to see a mistake in your costume and comment on it, they’re close enough to punch in the nose.

Delighted to be of service. For the record, you can vary this tip quite a bit, as needed. Punch in the nose, kick in the shins, even a good head butt, if they’re really annoying–and you have a particularly solid headpiece that would leave a satisfying dent. Be creative in your response to criticism. (Not to mention violent.)
