Dear Constant Reader,
As you see this, I am in Kansas City. It’s bringing back memories of when I performed at the Jayhawk Theatre fundraiser in Topeka during the Before Times. Here’s your tip!
When flying, put an Air Tag or similar tracker in your carry-on bag.
I used to always recommend putting absolutely anything vital in your carry-on, but these days it’s likely that there’s no more overhead bin space and you’ll have to gate check your bag. And then you have to trust that the airline does everything correctly to get it back to you. At least with a tracker, you have a chance of locating it.
Sadly, this tip brought to you by a friend of mine, who almost never flies, that had to gate check her bag. American Airlines put the wrong claim tag on it and has no idea where it is. There’s a gorgeous handmade costume out there somewhere and we’re all hoping it comes home.
Also, always keep anything like ID, meds, electronics, and jewelry in a bag that can go under your seat. A set of spare undies too, just in case everything gets lost.

These writings and other creative projects are supported by my 17 Patrons. I appreciate you all so much!
